#6 Conflict Resolution

Step 1:
The issue is that someone didn't do anything in our team project.

Step 2:
We built trust by saying politely what was wrong and being honest about it.

Step 3:
We asked diagnostic questions.

Step 4:
We re framed our strategies

Step 5:
We Brainstormed different ideas or ways around the problem of him not doing his part of the job.

Step 6:
We decided on an Agreement. The problem was he didn't like the part we gave him so our agreement was that if we gave him a different part he would do it.

#5 Handling Conflict

I worked in Clara Lara Funpark and i worked on top of the water slide. A woman and her child came up to go down it. I told her politely that i couldn't let her son down the slide as he was under the height limit but she started cursing at me telling me i'm useless at my job and i shouldn't be working here. I told her its part of the health and safety guideline's to this water slide that you must be over a certain height to go on it and told her if she had a problem with me or the rules then to go to my manager, which she did and then my manager came up to me to asked about the situation and then the woman was asked to leave the slide as i was in the right.

#4 The Marshmallow Challenge

This Marshmallow challenge was a group exercise, it was a competition to see who could build the tallest tower out of spaghetti and it had to hold a marshmallow on the top. We were allowed to use string and sellotape.

We tried different techniques. many of them failed. eventually we came up with an idea of having a triangle foundation that was sellotaped to each leg to keep them supported. One side was very weak so we had to put extra string on it to keep it standing. We won as the other groups were unable to hold a marshmallow at the top.

#3 Dissidence among the ranks

If i was the team leader i would bring April into another room and tell her that it is unacceptable and she should have organised a group meeting and brought the situation up in a calm way so we could come up with a solution together as a team. I would tell her she had to go back in and apologize to him as she was too harsh.

After she had apologized i would have talked to him on his own saying that April was in the wrong but we do have to talk about how you aren't putting the work in. i would tell him that i know how talented he is and what he is capable of and that tour team really needs his talents.
